Arthritis and CBD

Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more of your joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Osteoarthritis causes cartilage (the hard, slippery tissue that covers the ends of bones where they form a joint) to break down. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease in which the immune system attacks the joints, beginning with the lining of joints.

CBD can be a great treatment for arthritis, and many of our customers report reduced or even eliminated need for pharmaceutical pain medications.

Cannabis has been used for the treatment of arthritis since around 2500 B.C. when it was recommended in Shen-Nung’s Chinese pharmacopeia. Cannabis high in myrcene, limonene, and linalool may add synergistic effects that help with arthritis. Additionally, high CBC varieties are showing great promise for anti-inflammatory effects.

Start with 15 mg of CBD and increase from there to find your dosage for pain relief.

Always check with your medical professional before discontinuing any medications.
