What are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are very closely related molecules naturally occurring in the cannabis plant. They are metabolized by enzymes in our bodies providing relief from many different internal imbalances. CBD & THC are the most talked about cannabinoids because they are more prevalent than most other cannabinoids. They are also the most active compounds, but that is not to say the minor cannabinoids do not offer great benefits. Ingesting only one cannabinoid does offer some benefit but taking them as they were intended, together, generally offers better results. The enhanced effect cannabinoids have when taken together is referred to as the Entourage Effect.
There are at least 113 known phytocannabinoids (cannabinoids derived from plant material).
Main cannabinoid classes:
- THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)
- THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid)
- CBD (cannabidiol)

- CBN (cannabinol)
- CBG (cannabigerol)
- CBC (cannabichromene)
- CBL (cannabicyclol)
- CBV (cannabivarin)
- THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin)
- CBDV (cannabidivarin)
- CBCV (cannabichromevarin)
- CBGV (cannabigerovarin)
- CBGM (cannabigerol monomethyl ether)
- CBE (cannabielsoin)
